Victor Glover, the pilot of the Artemis II mission around the moon, reflected on God’s creation while in orbit on Easter Sunday. The other three astronauts have not spoken so directly about their personal faith. However, they have all described their heightened sense of spirituality and focus on humanity and nature after their return.
I recently listened to a New York Times podcast The Daily where they asked children to send in questions for the four astronauts who returned to Earth on April 10, 2026.
As you probably guessed, there were many questions about the bathroom and what the astronauts ate, but there were also several questions about their feelings while in orbit. All of the astronauts spoke about how their commitment to care for the Earth had deepened when they returned.
Victor Glover: Experienced a whole range of emotions; felt overwhelmed by God’s glory and spent the entire mission in awe.
Jeremy Hansen: Felt gratitude; reminded him that we’re capable of working together and lifting one another up.
Christina Koch: Became aware of how rare and precious our planet truly is.
Reid Wiseman: Advised anyone who wants to become an astronaut to “have a genuine curiosity about the natural world and all its wonders.”
I encourage you to listen to the entire podcast to hear exactly what each astronaut had to say. I found it very uplifting.
